Prayer can take the form of many things. You can pray quietly, loud, can use candles, kneel, stand, sit.. It is how we feel.. I have done all of the above praying. I have gotten down on my knees and prayed my heart out crying. have done it silently as I went about my work. It is the emotions we have inside of us coming out. I have sent prayers up with candle smoke and gazed upon the candle seeing the miracle. So it is different for people. but I feel it is all the same thing..

Prayer to me is communication with deity. If pressed, I'd define that a bit closer as formal communication with deity. Ritual is like prayer in motion, sort of.

The communication need not be in words.

I light a candles for any type of request for people. I also ask the Goddess to protect the family that is asking for prayer.

No matter if I'm at home or work. I have a candle to light. I also take time to meditate on the matter for a couple of minutes.

My office knows that I pratice the craft, but they don't say much about it. I also play music at the office that is of the Wicca sounds and meditation music. When it gets crazy around work I break out the music and do a purification around my desk. Yes, some of the people think I'm a little crazy, but who cares. I am Me...

Prayer to me is petitioning the Divine, asking them to do something for you. Usually if someone is asking me to help in non-mundane ways it is to do a spell for them. When people here on CS ask for help I usually just keep them in my thoughts, silent support. Prayer beads I've never used and don't plan on using so I'm no help there.

Prayer for me is just stopping whatever I am doing and focusing soley on my connection to the divine. I may speak from the heart, i may chant a short prayer of thanksgiving or describing a need in a sing song kinda way, etc... the main point is the expression of one's needs, desires, or thanksgiving.
