Meeting a WWE icon: Back from WWE in London, 10th November 2008
I've just got back from London, after spending the day there in various parts for the SmackDown! WWE Survivor Series tour. Firstly, I was able to do something I never dreamed would be possible, and that was to meet my personal, life long inspiration, idol, an icon in my opinion... WWE Superstar 'Jeff Hardy'. The in-store signing took place at 'Zavvi' on Oxford Street. Words cannot describe what an honour it was to meet him today. I honestly have no idea what I said, as I was completely star struck. He was beyond kind with his complements, which mean the absolute world to me. Jeff, if you do ever read this... I can't thank you enough for what you said! Thank you so so much. I never thought it would be possible, but I admire you even more. You are the definition of a true inspiration.
I then moved on to the SmackDown! LIVE event at The o2 Arena. Headlined by The Undertaker vs Big Show, in a falls count anywhere match. They certainly stole the show, and put on a fantastic match. It's always an incredible privilage when WWE visits England, London inparticular, and as always would like to thank them so much for today. Every time they visit, it always makes me even more certain that this is what I want to do, and what I am so passionate about. I have always truly respected, and been inspired by the whole WWE locker room, whether that's the superstars themselves, referees, or production crew. So many people don't understand their incredibly tough schedule, but they go out each and every time, putting on a show for the fans.
Thank you WWE!

OBAMA: You are spoiled already

S.T.A.R.S. badge
I cant wait but I finally found and won a S.T.A.R.S. badge off of ebay. Ive wanted one for about 8 years maybe more. Oh yeah I also finally found a store selling the Castlevania figures. I bought Alucard. Easily one of my favorites. I think Im gonna put him next to my Solid Snake and Albert Wesker figures. Im thinking of picking up Left 4 Dead but I dont know. I picked up MKvsDCU and havent even opened it yet. The sad thing is I talked so much smack about the game before I even saw screens and I bought it anyways. I must keep an open mind if Im going to start making games. Oh yeah I am sooooo stoked about Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Remix. Thats an instant download. I just wished I could put it on my psp too. Speaking of psp, where is RE1 for the psn? I hear canada got it and it was taken down because it only worked on the psp and not the ps3. I mean I can play it on the ps3 cause I own my original copy still and I converted it for my psp but still I want to have an official psn copy too. Oh well later.
2008 chapter officially closed
...And the question of the day (at least for me): "What do I do now?"
The chapter officially closed with the 2008 awards party. Congratulations to all who won something. (For once a lot of the winners were people I voted for.) As it happened I got 'best costume, male non-court'. Of course, since prior to that point I hdn't won anything, my mind blanked and the only thing that came out was "What do I do now?". Eventually I was directed to the podium and all was well.
Afterward sevreal people told me I richly deserved it for wearing that armor all day and marching in parade with it. It surprised me more than a little as I wore almost the same armor last year (again marching in parade and whatnot) and wasn't among the finalists. But then, last year I didn't have the closed helm, or (this is the important part) the embroidered velvet cloak. The thought also occurs to me that it's somewhat of a popularity contest, and in that regard I probably hadn't done as well thanks to having been dragged into some backstage drama that this year I didn't have to deal with. In any case, it was a fine way to close this year. And the t-shirt I got was too good. "Dragons fear me." (They even got the right size.)
And afterward there was dancing. I would have been content to hover around the dessert bar (even if it has only been three weeks since Haloween; I'm poor and free food is good.) As I said to one of the living history guides, I'm a professional wallflower -- I wish. If I got paid for it I'd be rich by now. But I did get unwillingly dragged onto the dance floor. Mind you, me dancing is like a zombie trying to train a fish to ride a motorcycle. True, learning to dance is on my life's to-do list, but it's not very high on the list. Learning Kaqchical Mayan language is higher. (Why Kaqchical? Because, last I checked, KU offered a class in such.) So, for the time being, all I could do was ask the question of the day: What do I do now? By the end of it I felt like a trained monkey, but without the training.
Even counting in the unavoidable awkward moments, it was a fine way to close the season. And now I look back into my life in the regular world and ask myself... you know.
Biggy and Diddy, ears back plugged in
Stop it if you think I'm gonna makea prophet...
You know the sad part about Torrence was, I was never in love with him and he know that... He can't use holding Hootie away from me as a way to hurt me... If I never see him again, my son knows I love him. He keeps me away from him, because he can't own me... I wanted the baby without the man if that makes sense and I know he knows that.
His mother once told me and he remineded me that she told me HOOTIE was the greatest birthdy presnt anyone ever gave her, I almost dies giving birth to that one, my final chapter... but if God says, I would open on last time.
Anyway, I coulda had a Jordan, I have a Kobe, if I could have made that count, baby! Speaking of Jordan... I have to blog him tonight and YES I told you they cn hear me. Baby looking into the eyes of Kobe Bryant I feel no pain with Mister Thomas, no love lost. He just can't follow the rules.
He is already in the system as a threat to CPD and Law Officer's so that is just a matter of time issue, now I have the upper hand, See my Big Brother Obama, just needed me to point "OUT" areas of trouble so we can address them NOW so we won't have to address them later. Get use to the sassy black chick with Obama, I am always saying something, I guess you can liken that to my new Condeleeza face.
See that is my sistah seat, I wish I could sit here back there for another 8 years, that would blow their minds, oh my God Condi (R) stays on as SOS, what is SOS isn't that the distress signal for help, so when you dial 911 or SOS who do you call SEC. OF STATE.
Hootie is so smart isn't he, that is his way of you better be quiet, I am so gald I haev all of the reports and proof I need for that one, I told you GMTGIWSHMFA. Just a matter of time. The sad part is because there are some that don't really like me, not that I am a bad person,m they know he is a jerk, they know he is abusive... I found they don't want to put up with him so they play stupid. Like that helps.
He terrorizes them all like that, well, anyway. I already told you that story and that is why I don't talk about him, nor do I allow him near me. I have more important things to do. Now back to Kobe, did I go to bed last night asking for a son?
I need to open a new window, I think I let a VAMPIRE out of my closet. Did you see the teeth on that fella last night. He is so literal, he will in a blink tell me everything "I" ate that night, thirsty ain't he... I guesws he had to sit the 4th because Carmello was getting testy... see what I mean, when I have something good like this I refuse to think bad...
Oh yeah, after the loss of Jennifer Hudson's family, I increased the level of security around Hootie, I really don't need your help to cover my own son, I just needed to see hm and for him to see me.
They already know they have a problem... he is so smart isn't he, I am so glad he is getting A's & B's, he should not have been held back Arnie, they all got credit for their homeschooling and I still have that crediential from your office he should have been in 6th grade, just like DJ and DEJA were promoted.
I want to go to WASHINGTON and you guys make me sick... NEW WINDOW
Is the Middle East for real?
A year or so ago, when the western financial system was powering on in blissful naivety, few would have bothered with a trip to the comparatively embryonic Dubai International Financial Centre.
But now there's DIFC Week and it's soared up the rankings to become one of the most important business event around.
Financial grandees from across the world have today descended on Dubai for the start of the conference.
Ostensibly it's a normal business gathering with the usual dry keynote speech on 'economic outlook in the region'. But behind the scenes some of the most crucial deals regarding the possible bail-out of cash-strapped western companies will be discussed.
The events of last week presented a concise snap-shot of the situation: Citigroup, once the world's biggest financial giant employing over 350,000, teetered on the brink following the sickening collapse of its shareprice.
This weekend the sudden fragility of this pillar of global finance frightened even the most battle weary of City players. Yet at the same time, Dubai on Thursday night staged the most extravagant party the world has ever seen.
Over 2000 guests, including Kylie, Robert de Niro and Duchess of York, flew in to witness the launch of Sol Kerzner's 7-star Atlantis Hotel on the iconic Palm Jumeirah. With the party costing millions of pounds including a firework display that was visible from space, it was an extravaganza even Hollywood's most spoilt stars are unlikely to forget.
And so, with the rest of the world in turmoil and in the true spirit of capitalism, the grandees have followed the money. So far the deals have been spectacular - all being well tomorrow, Barclays should have £5.8bn from Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
But it's not that simple, for Dubai at least. The emirate, whose vast and rapid expansion had mesmerized observers, is in fact leveraged up to the Burge Al Arab with not many resources to back it up.
While the more conservative neighbours Abu Dhabi and Qatar have vast natural resources, Dubai's oil reserves are not expected to last more than a few years.
Instead it is like a CDO on national scale. The vast property exposure is the big problem - and Brits are at the forefront. A quarter of the houses on the iconic Palm Jumeirah were snapped up by Brits for as much as £5m a pop. Last week experts said these were down 40pc. In addition this region is the Plan A for many of the hundreds of thousands of City and Wall Street workers being laid off at the moment.
So the real questions at this conference run far deeper than economic trends. The world wants to know if the Middle East is, well, for real, or has the growth of Dubai in particular been a decade long party that is about to come to a shuddering halt.
Otherwise will the region help the creaking west or, having had a taste of western bawdiness, prefer to face east to China and India instead, home to its arguably more useful immigrant population.
With top bosses from the across the ME as well as from American, Europe, China and India, DIFC week offers the perfect opportunity to try and find out.
mega survivor series time tomorrow night.
yo, tomorrow night is survivor series and I can't wait to know what happened on Sunday night please write back.
