    Tolerance But Not Acceptance

(.... tolerate - a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own.)
(.... accept -to regard as true or sound; believe.)

Tolerance .... mmmmmmmm ..... sounds good, doesn't it? Shouldn't we always strive to be tolerant of others' beliefs and opinions? I think so and being a pagan witch, I would dearly love to see the entire population of the world change their intellectual viewpoints into a single goal of tolerance towards everyone. But there is a difference between tolerating and accepting.

Last evening I was discussing a difference of opinion with one of my friends and christianity was at the center of this bantering. Do I tolerate christianity? My first reaction to that question is, " Of course!".  I was a christian, as were many of you, for many years. My mother taught me, as her mother had taught her and as a mother myself, I was a very strict christian mom, 24/7. My beliefs shaped our entire lives. I know how devious this group is with its members, the lies that are told, the propaganda that is spread, the guilt that is used to control as well as the fear, maybe especially the fear. Their belief system has permeated our world in every way and you can not avoid references to these beliefs as you live your daily lives, it is everywhere and it is still not enough for them. I was referred to as being passionate about christianity and I see now that I am and with good cause as I look back over my life.

Do I tolerate them? Yes. Do I accept them? No.

Do they tolerate me? No. Do they accept me? No.

Do I expect them to believe in my goddess? No.

Do they expect me to believe in their god? Yes.

Perhaps all of us feel this way toward anything that has kept us bound or has controlled us. We have shed that fear and purged ourselves of being reliant on that source. Our reaction is not one of vengence, but more of apprehension & mistrust. I know that christians think that I am on my way to hell, in fact when I was a christian, even then, I was told by another christian (a different denomination) that I was going to hell. (Yeah, christians hate each other, too.)

I will never be accepting of christians or the bible in any way. Tolerant of them always, but never accepting ... not anymore. You will never hear me quoting a bible verse, singing a traditional hymn, praying to Jesus, etc., for me to do that I would have to bend my principles to the breaking point and I refuse to that.

                                                                            Moon Blessings.

    Crow Arguments ...

    Wednesday, July 23, 2008, 09:11 AM [General]

This year there seems to be an abundance of crows where I live and I feel blessed by that and have enjoyed listening to them here at the house and at the pools. Of course when I'm at the pool at night we hear the frogs, crickets, and assorted insects, but the most interesting occurance was yesterday just before noon. My daughter & I were at the pool that is fairly close to a wooded cliff and the crows were making themselves VERY well heard. It sounded like there were many, many upset birds, just raising an incredible ruckus. You could see a bird flying here and there, but mostly they just argued from within the coverings of the branches. THEN a hawk screeched so loudly that it drowned out the din of the crows and about 15 crows came flying out of the trees at the cliff and landed in trees closer to the pool. They were quieter, but still vocally disgruntled. The hawk evidently decided that they were not being respectful enough and a second loud screech filled the air. .... shhhh ...... not a crow made a sound or even a move. In fact there were no nature sounds for several minutes. The crows remained very still and quiet for quite some time and even when they eased up a bit, there were no more loud banterings as long as we were there. Nature does have its own way of settling arguments.

    Moon Blessings.

The "I Can Have What I Want Including The Perfect Job" Spell

    Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 03:01 PM [General]

The "I Can Have What I Want Including The Perfect Job" Spell

    What you'll need:

A gold candle to represent you

A mirror or piece of foil about 2 feet square

    Patchouli oil

    Musk incense

    2 T. of powdered ginger

    4 T. sea salt

2 pieces of parchment or paper cut from

        a brown paper bag

    A pen

    A nail

Pictures from magazines or photographs that

embody what you see yourself doing

A lodestone or a refrigerator magnet

A metal bowl and a fireproof trivet

    Matches

A small jar with a lid

    ***

Start this spell when the Moon is new. If you're doing this spell, the whole idea that you can have whatever you want is a new concept that you're creating in your head. You're going to need the new-ness of the New Moon to match the energy you're generating. The idea, and belief that it is true, will grow as the Moon waxes to fullness.

    ***

Gather all of your ingredients & cast a circle. Light the incense and with the nail, inscribe the candle with your name and the Teiwaz rune (arrow pointing upward). You will also want to inscribe the symbol for the planets Mars & Jupiter on this candle (look it up, if you don't know them).

Anoint the candle wick to base with patchouli oil and roll it in the powdered ginger. Lay the mirror or the sheet of foil down in front of you, place the candle in the middle, & light the candle. Sprinkle the sea salt all around the mirror/foil in a circle. Start at the North and move clockwise.

As you let the candle burn, write on the first sheet of parchment all the feelings & fears you have about the job you have now. Place this to the left of the circle. On the second piece of paper write down everything you're thinking & feeling about what you could be doing, want to do, or imagine you could do. Don't hold back. All things are possible!

Draw the lodestone or magnet over every word you've written, anoint the paper with 3 drops of patchouli oil, kiss it once, & place it inside the salt circle underneath the gold candle. If you have any pictures of your dreams, anoint them with patchouli, kiss them once, and place them inside the circle, too.

Lay the lodestone or magnet on top of the pictures and/or the paper & let energy build as your dreams begin to manifest. As you visualize what you want, say these words out loud seven times:

I am free of all doubts about what's

    possible in my life,

As of this moment I release every fear.

Now that I know I can have what I want,

The old path is gone & the new path is clear.

After you have spoken this incantation, burn the piece of parchment/paper that has all your feelings & fears about the job you're currently attached to in the metal bowl. When it burns out completely, put the ashes in the jar.

With your old beliefs about what is true safely bottled, sit for a while and soak in the dreams that are coming to life inside the circle. See yourself doing what you love and being paid well for it.

When you feel complete, snuff out the gold candle & leave the circle intact. Take the bottle with the ashes of your old attitude in it, hop in your car & drive West, to the next town if possible. Find a secluded area to bury the bottle. Once it's in the ground point to the spot and say:

I no longer need to be a slave.

It's time to live the life I crave.

(And it might be good to add the following.)

In no way will this spell reverse

Or cast upon me any curse.

Every day after that, re-light the candle & activate the visions that are brewing in your mind and heart. Sit for a period of time feeding these thoughts.

On a night just before the moon is full, take the remains of the candle, the salt sweepings, & the magnet and wrap them inside the parchment & pictures. Bury this charm in the North & let Mother Earth receive your dreams and help you manifest them. Changes should start happening right away so pay attention & don't take anything for granted!

    Blessed Be.

    Moon Knowledge?

    Saturday, July 12, 2008, 08:41 PM [General]

    Good Evening,

I'm on the computer between storms, but I wanted to ask all of you a question. As you all know I am very interested in the moon and its energies. Do any of you know of good books on the subject, a website that would be informative, or anything that could help me learn more about this wonderful sphere in the sky?

I have ordered the book, "Everyday Moon Magic by Dorothy Morrison and I am also replacing my copy of Embracing the Moon by Yasmine Galenorn.  But if anyone can supply more insights of any kind I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you.

    Blessings.
