    First magick?

    Tuesday, October 23, 2007, 02:40 PM [General]

After you decided that wicca and/or witchcraft was for you, how has your spiritual life changed? AND .... how long was it before you did something 'magickal or witchy'? What was it?

Please share, I am so interested. Thank you!

    Blessed Be.

    Busy day ...

    Saturday, October 20, 2007, 05:39 PM [General]

    Hi,

What a beautiful and busy day this has been. I took my 3 year old granddaughter and my two teenagers swimming at a family center nearby, the first time my granddaughter has ever been in an indoor pool or even on a water slide. She had a ball swimming and then got to play on the playground while I walked through a craft fair that was being held there. It was really nice. I didn't purchase too much, just a jar of honey mustard that tastes sooo good, a homemade bug catcher, and the cutest 6" plump, stuffed witch with broom, cape, and even a tiny little wart on her nose. Just spending money that I shouldn't.

Yesterday I bought another solstice present, about the 5th so far, a Care Bear for my granddaughter, a 25th anniversary edition with crystals and sterling silver, very pretty. Then I went and got myself some more stud earrings. I had my ears pierced again in late May and I am still having problems with them. I am a diabetic (type 2), so I knew that it would take longer for the holes to heal than the ones I self pierced in 7th grade, but five months? Anyway, with six holes it takes more earrings and with the top two on each side being so stubborn I'm trying to keep studs in them and also the next two. Only the original two holes get all of my lovely hoops. So I got a bunch of studs at Claire's and they work very well in the pool, too.

I guess I had better hush and stop rambling on. I hope tomorrow is a beautiful day for all, It should be sunny here and about 80, next week is when the rain and cold temps move in. I still don't want to get out winter clothing, I love summer summer so much! Have a great 'rest of the weekend' and keep getting ready for Samhain.

    Blessed Be.

    Humor ...

letter from a 3rd grade teacher sent home to pagan parents:
-- by Ld Obyron Irondrake, 8/18/99

(Being that this was first printed quite some time ago, perhaps everyone but me has read it before. I hope it makes someone chuckle today.)

    Dear Mr. and Mrs. Thomas,

I write this letter in concern of your daughter, Aradia Moon. Please
don't take this the wrong way, however, although she is a straight A
student and a very bright child, she has some strange habits that I
    feel we should address.

Every morning before class, she insists on walking around the
classroom with her pencil held in the air. She says she is "drawing
down the moon." I told her that her Art Class is in an hour and to
please refrain from doing any drawing until then.

And speaking of Art Class, whenever she draws a night sky, she
insists on drawling little circles around all the stars and people
dancing on the ground. And that brings up dancing, I had to stop her
twice for taking off her clothes during a game of Ring Around the
Rosey! By the way, what does the term "skyclad" mean?

Aradia has no problem with making friends. I always find her sitting
outside during recess with her friends sitting around her in a
circle. She likes to share her juice and cookies. It is nice how she
wants no one to ever thirst or hunger. However, when I walked over
to see what they were doing, she jumped up and told me to stop,
pulled out a little plastic knife and started waving it in front of
me. I thought this was a bit dangerous, so I took her to the
Principal's Office. She explained to the Principal that she was
"opening the Circle" to let me in. She also said that her Mommy and
Daddy always told her not to play or run with an "athame" in her
hand, that she could put someone's eye out. I don't know what an
"athame" is, but I am glad that she keeps it at home.

As for stories, your daughter tends to make up some whoppers. Just
yesterday while I was talking sternly to Tommy Johnson and shaking
my finger at him, he started screaming and ran from the room. When I
finally caught him, he told me that Aradia told him and the rest of
the class that the last time I
shook my finger at someone, they caught the chicken pox. I
explained to him that the Sally Jones incident was just a
coincidence, and that things like that don't really happen.

One of the strangest things that happened was when I asked the
children to bring in Halloween decorations for the classroom. Aradia
brought in salt, incense and her family album. I see she has quite a
    sense of humor.

One of Aradia's worst habits is that she is very argumentative. We
were discussing what the Golden Rule was (Do Unto others as you
would have them Do Unto You), she firmly disagreed with me and
stated it was "Do As you will, but Harm None" and she will not stop
saying "So Mote It Be" after she reads aloud in class. I try correct
her on these matters and she got very angry. She pointed her finger
at me and mumbled something under her breath.

In closing, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas, I would like to set up a
parent/teacher conference with you sometime next week to discuss
these matters. I would like to see you sooner, but I have developed
an irritating rash that I am quite worried about.

    With Deep Concerns,
    Mrs. Livingston

P.S. Blessed Be. I understand that this is a greeting or closing
from your country that your daughter informs me is polite and correct.

Yes, you are wrong about birdie poem ...

    Wednesday, October 17, 2007, 02:07 PM [General]

    This is in response to the blog by Pathwalker about a poem posted by Rhinocerous Zen Paganism. I left it as a comment, but then felt a blog would be better;

Yes, you did get too worked up over a little four line poem. I know that when I read it I was quite surprised at first too and then I simply made up my own silly answer and went on about life. As a human being and especially as a pagan, I do not consider it my place to judge every word that I read or hear. Compassion and tolerance are two goals of mine. I was a critical and judgemental christian for many many years and do not want to be like that anymore.

The poem was simply a little poem that Rhino shared with his dad. Leave it, let it go, it's no big deal! He has assured you that it is against his beliefs to hurt an animal, so why are you continuing?

This is suppose to be a place where pagans can go and freely express themselves and feel right at home. Are you trying to be a member of the 'pagan police'? One who will monitor ALL of the posts and make sure they are good enough, clean enough, and pagan enough to be viewed by the public? Will you make a list of rules and regulations so that all of us can abide by your laws? That rings of censorship to me, big time. (Next we will be correcting our spelling & grammar usage.) This website encourages a very diverse group of people to communicate with each other and accept each other just as we are and in general I think we all do pretty good.

Do you know that you yourself could be found lacking in the 'animal lover' arena? As an animal lover and activist I could ask you, a self proclaimed animal lover, how you can condone the racing of horses, the eating of animals, the hobby of fishing, etc. I find all of these activities cruel and heartless. But I will never make an issue out of here for there is a time and place for everything.

Covenspace is suppse to be our home, where we can just kick our shoes off and be ourselves without people breathing down our necks and analyzing everything word.

I may not like everything that I read while I'm at this site, but I just go on and mind my own business. I'm not going to judge anyone simply on a blog post that I read. As for Rhinocerous Zen Paganism? We are now on each other's friends list and I feel honored. May the Goddess and God bless all who read this.

    Blessed Be.

    Not enough time ...

    Tuesday, October 16, 2007, 05:06 PM [General]

There is simply not enough time to go through all of the wisdom that is being shared on this website. You can spend hours going through blogs and finding the numerous nuggets of experienced wisdom. But I can't be on here for that long (I tried last night!). I do have other things that require my attention and even some studying to do. So, if you have some pearls of wisdom that you would like to share I would love to hear from everyone and see what I can learn. Please, just one crumb of wisdom from everyone .. what an honor it would be to share.

    Blessed Be.
